Where did you get engaged and how long had you been together before hand?

“Stuart proposed to me at the top of the 02 on the walkway over the O2 roof in August 2013. We have been together 14 years!”

How many venues did you visit before you chose Fennes as your wedding venue?

“We looked at two other venues, but The Fennes was always our favourite.”

How did you feel when you first visited Fennes, did you know straight away that you wanted to get married here?

“The Fennes is just beautiful and as soon as we walked in and then walked down the red carpet towards the marquee I knew that was where I wanted to be on my wedding day; you just get butterflies in your stomach!”

What was your first step of wedding planning? Venue search, dress shopping, choosing a date, etc.?

“As we only had about five months to plan the wedding, after booking the Fennes it was straight out to dress shopping 🙂 I found my perfect dress on my first visit!”

How many months/years in advance did you book your special day?

“5 Months”

What was the hardest thing about planning your wedding day?

“Making quick decisions as time was short. Luckily as we were out of wedding season, we had a good choice of suppliers.”

Where there any funny moments on the Day?

“The day was very windy and during the ceremony the roof of the marquee was lifting and the chandeliers were swinging but all stayed intact. Also, Stuart was very emotional which led to the register becoming quite emotional too!!!!”

What were the highlights of your day?

“There is no one highlight of my day, the whole day was amazing, from the start with bridal preparations through to next day at breakfast with family and friends.”

Now you have been there done that in hindsight is there anything you would have done differently?

“No, I would not have changed a thing – people say take things slow and soak in the day – that is very true, but even as I said it to myself it’s hard to do, you get swept along.”

Do you have any advice for Bride and Grooms that are just starting their wedding plans?

“Don’t worry about minor details and over planning things, everything comes together on the day and if there are one or two things that aren’t quite perfect, it really doesn’t matter, no one notices and neither do you. I spent weeks trying to organise ceremony music – most of it you do not hear and don’t really take in either!!! I also worried about the first dance, no need, it’s the perfect moment to enjoy a few minutes together to talk about the day. Just enjoy and take it all in!”
